The Proposal

Ok, So I'm kind of new to the entire blog-o-sphere thing. But I figured I'd give it a shot and blog the events of my 'wedding on facebook' experiment. For those of you who know me and maybe those of you who don't know me all that well, probably think this is some kind of joke or just me trying to get some attention. This is not a joke. I am dead serious about this. This si no different than if I were to get an eharmony profile or take out a personal ad. The only difference is I'm trying to save myself some money and time by not having to sort through all those profiles to find someone that I may or may not be interested in.

I'm sure that some of you still think this is just me goofing around or maybe you just don't give a crap about me trying to find a mate. But since you are reading this then maybe you might just care a little more than you think you do. For those of you who may not have seen it or aren't my friend on facebook here's the first status message throwing out the idea of my 'facebook wedding', the proposal if you will:

"Since I work a mad amount of hours and have no time to meet someone, I'm going to try an experiment. We'll call it "married on facebook". Anyone wanna get married? We won't even need to pay someone to do it. I'm legally ordained so I can reside over the ceremony myself. Who's in?"

So there's the proposal to all my facebook friends. I took the first step and decided to reach out and see if anyone was interested. This all started on Saturday morning at 1:55 AM. I was at work cleaning and was just kind of thinking about things. I figured 'what the hell?' Why not just throw it out there. We'll see what happens. I'm going to chronicle this. Probably not every day because I'm sure nobody cares that much but, whenever there is an important update I will post it here. Stay tuned everyone.

  1. Is it really legal to marry yourself?

  2. You know I'm not 100% sure. I know that you really don't need to have a minister or clergyman preside over the wedding. So I'm sure I can do it as long as I have another person sign as a witness for me.
